This poem is about the power of childhood experiences and how they can have lasting effects on person. I truly believe that many facets of an adult can be traced back to his or her upbringing. There exists here, I think, a sort of pseudo fate sort of thing. Essentially, one can be set on a path which they did not necessarily choose, a path that is hard to turn from in some instances. This can, of course, be either negative or positive.
Eclipse
The eclipse occurred when I
was still young,
the damage long done, the
death of the son,
bright no longer sought,
darkness over light,
rays of gold repulsed,
day becomes night,
my heart resides in shadows,
my mind fades black,
beauty still found but
love always lacked
Incredible.
